Illuminosa is the title of Jef Montes’ debut-collection at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam. With this collection the Artez-graduate tried to visualize the effect of light in an experimental design. The tension backstage was touchable, while Jef Montes adjusted his designs at the last second.

Trend Report FW2013: Winter White

It’s not the first time around we’ve seen this trend get big. Wasn’t it last year we told you all about how to wow in white during the winter season? Well, this season too white is the chicest shade in buy viagra the bunch, popping up at labels like Céline, Ferragamo, Derek Lam, Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler and Valentino. It might not be the most practical look (one winter storm and you´re dressed in all gray), but you can make a real fashion statement by going for a full on white colored attire. That is dresses (Céline, McCartney), coats (Ferragamo, Mulberry, Proenza Schouler), pants (Derek Lam) and capes (Valentino). Oh and no need to stress about the shoes; there’s nothing wrong with wearing a pair of black, off white, brown or even gray pumps or ankle boots with it. Perfect for a day at the office, Christmas with the family or an original party look (how refreshing something other than a LBD=!). Just keep your winter color palette as clean and simple as possible (white, off white, beige, ivory etc.) and you’ll be a stunning Snow White for the next few months.

Animal prints; no fashion season is complete without them. Whether we’re talking fall, winter, spring, summer, couture or resort. Not a designer out there that hasn’t yet taken a walk on the wild side. ‘Cause whether it’s a tiny leopard printed scarf or a full on zebra & snake look; every creative director seems to be bringing out his/hers animalistic side at a certain point. This fall the catwalks at brands like Burberry, DKNY, Tom Ford, Lanvin and Giambattista Valli turned into a jungle. We spotted giraffes (Burberry), leopards (Moschino Cheap & Chic, Diane von Furstenberg, Isabel Marant, Trussardi), snakes (Just Cavalli), but also birds no prescription viagra (Proenza Schouler) and beetles (Lanvin) at our style safari. If there ever was a moment to release your inner fashion beast, now is the time!

Trend Report FW2013: Fall/Winter in bloom

They usually pop up in spring collections, but this season the floral print is just as big. Blugirl, Oscar de la Renta, Lanvin, Valentino and Louis Vuitton all put their fall / winter collections in bloom with gorgeous florals. No pastels or tropical hues here, designers mostly worked in a black, navy, grey, red color palette. Classic, English wall paper inspired roses were (digitally) printed on fancy frocks and suits. A dress with a bright red, orange and blue online pharmacy no prescription mirrored print simply was the show stopper of the Oscar de la Renta show. At Lanvin some looks had actual 3D flowers attached to them. At Valentino countless, dreamy floor sweeping floral printed dresses definitely swept us of our feet. And though the flowers at Vuitton may have been subtle, they sure made an impression. Let the romanticism sprout this season!

Trend Report FW2013: Statement Sweaters

If there was one piece of clothing worth investing over the last year it would have been the sweater and more specifically, the sweatshirt. Givenchy set the sweatshirt trend a few seasons ago and this fall it’s still popping up in countless streetwise collections. Designers are experimenting not only with color or print (if you’re not into Bambi the leopard print seems to be a smart option), but with architectural shapes, materials and graphic logo’s too, making the sweater into a fashion item for everyone’s taste. Now we all know the actual sweating part (thus sporting) has nothing to do with this hit item and even with indian pharmacy a common sweater you can join in on this trend. Just make sure to pair it with some type of skirt (as seen at Blugirl, Moschino Cheap & Chic, Hilfiger, Ungaro, Matthew Williamson, Kenzo, House of Holland and Philip Lim) to give it an extra feminine twist. Look super chic while hitting one of the upcoming holidays cocktail parties or just lounge about indoors in one of those comfy statement sweaters.

Trend Report FW2013: Pinstripe Parade

There’s nothing surprising about a woman dressed in a suit anymore. Us ladies have been borrowing clothes from the lads for ages now. But this season the menswear inspired tailoring is extra sharp! Designers from Yamamoto and McCartney to Ralph Lauren and Margiela all introduced the masculine inspired trend in a new and very feminine version. Now they may have opted for the typical (boring) business pinstripe generic viagra print, they did manage to turn it into the most wanted, extra elegant print on any woman’s fall fashion wish list. They showed the print on a jacket, combined with skirts, bare legs and high heels (Ferragamo), paired with nothing but some lingerie (Marc Jacobs) or a pair of shorts (Saint Laurent), sleeveless (Margiela), on sharply tailored suits (Moschino, Yamamoto) and last but not least used on unexpected fashion items like, dresses and thick winter jackets (Stella McCartney). These labels made it clear: you don’t have to look like a fella to join in on this pinstripe parade. Trend Report FW2013: Powder Pink Coats

Every now and then a trend hits the surface of which you never, not in your wildest dreams, could have guessed it ever would be in fashion. This autumn it’s the powder pink coat that blew us all off our feet. It suddenly popped up in several major fashion shows like Dior, MiuMiu, Carven and Chanel and it wasn’t long after the fashion scene picked up on the trend and high street brands like Primark and Zara started producing their affordable version of get viagra the romantic statement coat. It might not be the most practical winter coat (cause how long exactly will that pastel pink stay so fresh and clean?). Yet it definitely is a welcome escape from those dark and moody black, gray, navy jackets we’ve all been wearing since.. well forever. Trend Report FW2013: Over the knee

This season every big designer, from Karl Lagerfeld to Peter Dundas, Donna Karan and Frida Gianni, are showing their way of how to rock the statement boot. Black leather at Chanel (patent leather that is) and DKNY, but colourful at Gucci and Pucci. Next to regular black leather, colored suede seems to be a success formula for this trend too. Especially when worn just a little on the loose side (as seen at Pucci). Combined with a skater skirt (not too short!) the boots form a truly on trend look, but they work perfectly with an oversize woollen dress too. Show a little leg or leave it up to your spectator’s imagination to guess where those sky high boots end. Oh and a skinny or a pair of thick tights will work as well. Just make sure this over the knee footwear gets all the attention it deserves, ‘cause these boots were not just made for walking…
