Addy van den Krommenacker Catwalk Fashion Show FW2011

Tonight Addy van den Krommenacker came a little bit out of his comfort zone by showing a collection that was a little more tough than we’re used to from him. He opted for green as the main color of the show, appearing in many different shades.

His glamorous pieceful warior woman (the name of the collection) changed her wardrobe from casual chic to lounge to evening. She wore army green shorts combined with elegant jackets, shiny, feminine cocktail dresses and chic evening gowns.

Addy designed a leopard print and some gorgeous floral prints (we loved the one with the yellow flowers!). He added sequins, embroideries, beads, ruffles and pleats to his dresses and made his models look their absolute best.

Frontrow at Addy van den Krommenacker AIFW FW2011

Lots of Dutch celebs spent their free afternoon at the show of Addy van den Krommenacker. It makes sense because he’s one of the favourite designers tv- and film-stars turn to for a glamorous eveningdress.  Most of his fans showed up at the show and cheered during the finale.

Sage & Ivy Catwalk Fashion Show Amsterdam FW2011

Today Alexia van Engelen surprised us with her brand new Russian inspired winter collection.

We saw some gorgeous embroideries and beautifully detailed blouses and evening dresses, followed by shiny leggings and corsetlike tops. The airy fabrics and the use of lace made the models look very elegant. It also made us think of chic dinners and long nights in front of the open fire. Nights on which a knitted cardigan or a furry cape would come in handy

The shape and the tailoring of the clothes was perfect. Also the colors of the collection (shades of cream, white, beige and just a little bit of black) felt nice for winter. ‘Cause it doesn’t always have to be all black right?

We fell in love with the show area too; the Felix Meritus building was a perfect match with the Russian story of this new Sage & Ivy collection

Great job Alexia!

Marloes Blaas presented a strong and balanced collection. Backstage the details of her clothes were better visible and surprising. The fabrics with prints of roadmaps were wonderful as were the recycled militairy workwear.

See the collection here.

Although not at the official list of the AIFW, the Sage & Ivy-show was well visited by press and curious fashion-lovers. It was the second collection of designer Alexia van Engelen, and this time the collection was inspired by St Petersburg.
