EnD Amsterdam Fashion Week fw2010

The fashion show of Eva and Delia was introduced by a short forties/fifties movie in which we saw Victoria Koblenko and Sebastiaan Labrie. It was inspired by Hollywood’s black and white crime-cinema.

Small lamps were hanging above the catwalk and as they lighted up the models appeared.

The designers described their collection as the most chique, fatal, feminine and dramatic one ever. They passed the campy influences they used earlier and focused more on glamour. Yet they still cherished their cutting edge and rocky energy.

Eva and Delia showed a lot of accentuated shoulders. Several fans attached to dresses came by as well. Long eighties inspired jackets with shoulder pads, worn as dresses, and high-waisted pants were also shown.

All designs came by in gold, black and beige and were worn with bronze necklaces.

At the end of the show all models stood still on the runway as the lamps above their heads were turned off one by one to the sounds of Rock ‘n’ roll suicide by David Bowie.

Eva and Delia showed their first collection for EnD in 2007. In November 2009 EnD won the Marie Claire Prix de la Mode as Best National Designer.

Ontfront Amsterdam Fashion Week fw 2010

The menswear-label Ontfront has a signature of its own: rebellious but focused at real men’s  tailoring. The fw 2010 collection had a hint of techno eighties with a straight and gründliche German touch.

Designer Liza Koifman was inspired by car-races at Le Mans and Monaco and car-design and aerodynamic silhouettes. Colors were dark and reminded us of asphalt, rubber wheels and colorful highlights, fabrics were classic but also techno.

All together it was a mucho macho collection with a playful touch, like little boys wearing tough clothes to be like their big brothers. But hey, men and cars – it’s the same as men and clothes. Showing off is allowed.

*We would really love to give the goodiebag a 9, yet while we didn’t receive one we changed it into a 6.We were dissapointed about the fact that not everyone at the show received a goodiebag. All first two rows got one, except us, sitting in section C. Did they ran out of goodiebags, did some people steal them before the show started or do journalists just don’t get one?
Dear Olcay Gulsen, we hope we will receive one of your great goodiebags at your next show.

Claes Iversen Amsterdam Fashion Week fw2010

Claes Iversen’s collection called Le Petite Femme was indeed a very feminine collection. We saw lots of ruffles and shiny kristall flowers.

Claes showed some great designs in which heavy winter fabrics were mixed with transparent organza. From under some skirts and dresses was a transparent layer visible. A checked skirt was matched with a floralprinted blouse. All blouses had a small cute collar.

The collars in this collection were bordeaux red, gold, pink and navy blue.

At the ending of the show a model appeared in a white wedding dress full of price tags. But not only the dress, also the model’s face and the veil of the dress had price tags added to them.

We already heard a lot of people saying Claes’ collection was great and we couldn’t agree more.

Supertrash Amsterdam Fashion Week fw2010

SUPERTRASH_AFWF10_BS_318

“A new era has begun in which power is back where it belongs, women finally will take over authority. SuperTrash tells this story with her new winter collection, specially created by Power women for Power women! Who can we honor better to celebrate this than the most famous queen of our history that ruled over a whole empire: Miss Cleopatra.” This was according to their pressrelease.

And it was a strong woman indeed that walked the catwalk at the Supertrash-show. And she couldn’t care less what others would think of her ultra-tight, short dresses, high heels, glitzy leggings and comfy cardigans or leather jackets. Colors moved form black to brown, green and off white. Silver studs, golden tinkles and long zippers made it look more tough, while big flower-prints added a touch of femininity.

Non by Kim Amsterdam Fashion Week fw2010

The Non by Kim fashion show started with the sound of strong wind. Models with snow in their hair appeared on the catwalk in heavy woolen sweaters and thick scarves.

The show was inspired by the South Pole, so Kim Bakker designed the clothes of a whole new civilization, which could be living in the midst of the pole.

Halfway the show the models acted as if they were walking on cracking ice, thus they carefully walked the first part of the runway.

The colors of the collection were gray, light blue and brown. A pair of trousers and several Norwegian knitted sweaters were made out of all sorts of colored wool.

Some models wore glasses that looked like ski glasses from the old days. Other models had a bright blue contact lens in one of their eyes.

The fashion label Non by Kim was founded in 2007 by designer Kim Bakker. During this Amsterdam Fashion Week she presented her fourth collection of menswear.
