Costume National Catwalk Fashion Show ss2010
The Costume National Homme collection was about travellers and curious adventurers. According to us it was more about new wave, eighties and small suits for older boys. Lots of white, black and grey with a hint of green, a small silhouet and ankleboots.
We’re in Milan!
Today we started the menswearseason spring summer 2010 in Milan. We – Peter, Jetty and Lisa – will keep you posted every day on what’s happening here and who’s showing what. Now in Arnhem: Glamour The Exhibition, Celebrate Shape. Dutch edition of Glamour invited their best photographers to send in their view on Shape – the theme of Arnhem Mode Biennale 2009. And Peter Stigter is one of them. His futuristic picture of the recent John Galliano-show is in the exhibition, among work of 62 other colleagues like Carli Hermès, Paul Bellaart and Annemarieke van Drimmelen. Location: Coberco Factory, Nieuwe kade 1, Arnhem. Until July 6th.
Graduationshows 2009, #1 The Hague

The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague is the first academy this year to present the graduation-collections of their fashionstudents. There were some strong collections, with focus on shapes and volumes, bright colors, fabrics and personal statements. It was the first time we saw influences from Bas Kosters and Gareth Pugh. And that’s a compliment !
Bas Kosters: Freedom Collection
There was something new about Bas Kosters’ womenswear-collection for 2010. The dresses, pants and coats he showed yesterday at Paradiso in Amsterdam seemed more refined, happier and free. His previous collections always had a hint of anger, protest and cartoons, but somehow Bas took a few steps forward now. What he showed yesterday was wearable, beautiful in his own way and colorful. It made us laugh, feel happy and reminded us of our careless childhood-moments. The colors! That glitter! The clogs! The signature Kosters-prints! It felt like a serious ready to wear-collection. And he really made us forget that nasty crisis.
Arnhem celebrates fashion
Since the opening of the Arnhem Modebiennale 2009 last friday princess Maxima finally deserves the title ‘fashion princess’. It was the first time she chose Dutch fashion – one of Jan Taminiau’s signature mailbag-jackets – for an official event. And we spotted even more enthousiastic fans of Dutch fashion, like Medy van der Laan dressed from head to toe in Viktor & Rolf NO-collection or the major of Arnhem in People of the Labyrinths. They made us feel proud! And please, go and see the exhibition in Arnhem. It’s beautiful, funny, fashionable, avantgarde and celebrates fashion in every part. The Biennale closes at july 6th 2009.
