Ladies and gentlemen; we’ve got ourselves a goodiebag winner!

The goodiebag of the opening night (shows of SIS by Spijkers en Spijkers and Tony Cohen) was the best one out of the bunch.

So kudos to the girl who put all bags together: Goodiebaggirl Karlijn Visser. She knows what a good goodiebag is!

There was even’t even much competition; all other goodiebags mostly contained only a few Redken beauty items.

2 Love Tony Cohen Catwalk Fashion Show AIFWSS2012

On Sunday night designer Tony Cohen held his second show of the Amsterdam Fashion Week. This time he presented his brand new, second line named 2LOVETONYCOHEN. A more affordable line so more women can own a Tony Cohen.

The models wore colorful shades, Sacha Shoes and very feminine outfits. The first girls sported lots of nudes; frilly dresses, playful tops and elegant blouses. They looked confident as they strutted the runway, hair down (with two small braids), hands in their pockets.

The nudes slowly turned into all kinds of blue shades and even some kind of aqua print. Silk tops, charming scarfs, leather jackets, trenchcoats and T-shirts with sequins followed in red, blue and lilac.

It was a show full of great pieces. And the fact that these are now more affordable will probably make a lot of women happy.

Which crew are you? The A-team of AIFW

The fifteenth edition of Amsterdam International Fashion Week is a fact. More than 18.500 visitors came to the Westerpark and downtown-program, 1500 less then last year. Due to the bad weather some people decided to stay home and watch the shows via internet. Thanks to the renewed organisation at the AIFW the programme went smootly.

So we thought it’s about time to introduce the crew, or A-team, that is the motor behind the organisation of the Amsterdam fashionweek, which is the number six on the list of international fashion-weeks. But of course this week wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of the other team-members Holly Syrett, Judith Hafkamp, interns and volunteers.

Meet the A-team, from left to right: the best dressed program-director we know Carlo Wijnands, shareholders Hans van der Linden, Bart Maussen and Wouter Zick.

Outsider at AIFW SS2012, part 2

Photographer Nick Helderman is new to the world of fashion. He knows his way quite well in the music-scene, but is still an outsider to the wonderful, glamorous, intoxicating, exaggerated world of fashion. Peter Stigter invited his talented colleague to experience the Amsterdam International Fashion Week and try to capture his vision in images. Today, part two.

Nick Helderman  lives in Amsterdam. He published in Het Parool, Glamcult and OOR. In 2010 he was nominated for the Popview/Lex van Rossen Award. You can look at his portfolio here.

Which crew are you? Jurlights at AIFW

There’s no show without lights. And the lights-production/design at the AIFW-shows is in the hands of Jurlights for a few seasons now. So all the beautiful lightsets at Hunkemoller, Jan Boelo, Lichting 2011 and more were designed and produced by this team.

Jan Boelo Catwalk Fashion Show AIFWSS2012

Jan Boelo held his fashion show at 3.00 p.m., but unlike at other fashion shows this didn’t withhold the VIP guests to come to his show. And we got the feeling his star studded front row very much enjoyed his Rock ‘n Roll Balmain-inspired presentation.

It started with a short clip (see below), just to set the mood right.

Then Boelo’s angry models appeared sporting shiny tailored jackets, loose rock pants and glamrock shoes. They walked fierce and fast and sure worked Boelo’s seventies inspired creations (for men and women).

Leather pants and dresses with lots of chains and metal belts made the models look tough. Shiny denim shorts (with pockets sticking out from underneath) seemed perfect for a summer festival. And those well fitted Baroque and Roll jackets (with stressed shoulders) could just be very wearable (when styled in a more sober manner).

To the sounds of of Highway to Hell the show came to and end. Jan told us Ellen ten Damme is already fan of his label and we’re pretty sure more celebs are soon to follow.

Edith & Ella Backstage at AIFW SS2012

The backstage-setting at Edith & Ella was as colorful as the show. Hair and beauty reminded us of the good old Brigitte Bardot-days, French, feminie and a bit naughty.
