Earthy tones are making a huge comeback and so it comes as no surprise we’ve got terracotta shades all over our moodboard. It’s out with black, white and concrete (not really, but you get the idea) and in with the rusty/burnt brown hues. Seen at Chloé, Etro and Ferragamo. Worked out so stylish at Lanvin, Stella McCartney and Oscar de la Renta. And celebrated big time at Hermes. There’s no denying this fall/winter shade.

Those chandeliers can be so big they look somewhat intertwined with your necklace. No holding back now. Go big are go home. Enjoy the (ear)party!

TPS is growing and flourishing, which is why we are looking for a “junior photographer” who is reliable, balanced and pleasantly ambitious. Who likes to work in a team of 8-10 super-driven professionals and who sees added value in teamwork.

We expect a “HBO” (Higher Vocational Education) intellectual level and attitude & love for photography. A certain level of education is nice, but it doesn’t say everything. You have great Photoshop and InDesign skills and you’re competent with working on a computer in general.

Together we will do everything within TPS to ensure that you become the real professional in your role.

Do you think you can handle that? Great, convince us!

Send us your flaming motivation letter and 5 of your very best photos, subject of your own choice. Mail address: [email protected]. And we might be talking soon…

Couture Streetwear Trend SS2019: Open Heels

Come winter, come summer. Of course you can wear your open heels any day of the year. But since high (extreme) temperatures are around the corner, best have them ready for a spin. Pink metallic, like the ones Nicole Richie was wearing at the Giambattista Valli show, a pair of turquoise stunners or just go with black or white. Is a monochrome heel a little too boring for you? Opt for a version with bows or ruffles just like the streetstyle stars in our gallery below.

Viktor & Rolf Haute Couture Paris SS2020

Last season’s collection was all over the internet and went endlessly viral on IG. Even till today, when Christina Aguilera arrived in that “Fuck this Im going to Paris”-dress, it’s a megahit. So how to follow up on a hyped up collection like that? A moody but later on light hearted collection entitled Spiritual Glamour shown at the Westin Hotel was the answer. “Our spell is to transform the feeling of doom about our environment into positive action,” said Horsting. And so the designers collaborated with textile artist Claudy Jongstra. A specific shade of Burgundian black made from botanical pigments turned up on coats and dresses. As the collection slowly became a little more cheerful towards the end when the sun, stars, flowers, butterflies and the usual bows brought some extra optimism. Architectonical shapes, patchwork details, funky hairdos (with little waves) and dramatic eye make-up turned each look into a showstopper. It might turn out as less of a hype perhaps, but with a stronger sustainability message this time. “Our models are like modern witches looking for a spell to make people look at fashion production and consumption differently”, Rolf said. Let’s hope the fashion system is not cursed.

Iris van Herpen Haute Couture show SS2020

On Monday Dutch designer Iris van Herpen presented her latest couture collection ´hypnosis´. Nineteen laser-printed, heat-bonded and laser cut dresses inspired by the kinetic sculptures of American artist Anthony Howe. As Céline Dion, wearing one of the dresses, watched from the front row the designs gracefully moved (with duchesse-satin cut into thousands of 0.8 mm exquisite waves that each are interlinked, designed to move faster than the eye can follow) with every step of the (run)way. Yet explaining the way these dresses were constructed or made with technology can be as dazzling as watching the designs come down the runway. ´The ‘hypnosis’ collection is a hypnotic visualization of nature’s tapestry, the symbiotic cycles of our biosphere that interweave the air, land, and oceans. It also reflects the ongoing dissection of the rhythms of life and resonates with the fragility within these interwoven worlds´, Iris told the press. Best let the designer explain the process and simply be amazed.

This Saturday we were all invited to the Tripolis-complex in Amsterdam as it was time for Gerrit Rietveld Academie’s graduates to present their work to their faculty, family and press. The results of the personal and experimental learnings of seven students (Laetitzia Campbell, Erika Jonasson, Karis Lindelien, Mika Perlmutter, Bodil Ouédraogo, Krystian Sokolowski and Emma Tornsteinrud) were shown as well as a selection of the work of a few first and second years students. Their work, created mostly in a very intuitive way, expresses their view on todays fashion and what fashion will be in the future. Below are a view images of Saturdays show. The rest of the images will follow shortly.

The “Fashion Show 2019” is powered by Meester Koetsier Foundation en Temp. Zuid.
