Giambattista Valli x H&M: What to Expect

So Giambattista Valli is the new guest designer for H&M. The news was announced this Sunday evening and we all got a little preview right away. Kendall Jenner, Chiara Ferragni, Chris Lee, Ross Lynch en H.E.R. all got dressed in some of the items from the pre drop of this limited edition collection and we were all in awe. The designs will be super signature Valli and super sweet. We dug up some images from our archive that in our opinion perfectly set the mood for this upcoming designer collab. It’s going to be so tasteful with ingredients such as: tulle (layers and layers of it), volume (3D shapes) powdery pink hues, floral prints, transparency, lace, off shoulder, asymmetry (short in the front, long in the back) and towering lengths. We might get something short and sassy as well. Some feathers perhaps and a tailored (jump)suit. We’re all too excited for the collection’s launch on 7 November.

Streetstyle trend SS2019: See through Things

Who needs lace, mesh or tule when you can dress up in plastic! A big theme out on the streets were see through plastic items. Like those raincoats and Fendi trenches. Like all kinds of see through bags (yes, we know exactly what you’re carrying in your handbag). Like those (semi transparent and sheer) skirts that make you wanna wear fancy (& fashionable) bottoms all of a sudden. And let’s not forget that good old see through umbrella that makes a good streetwear picture, even on a rainy day. Are you all for transparency? Wrap up in plastic, it’s.. so summer 2019 😉

Try not to get dizzy there. Cause you know basically all we want to see you do in these designs in twirl. Twirling around in an outfit with fringes makes up for some impressive outfit movement as well as slomo footage. Especially with these fringe looks. That red fringed cape we spotted on the streets of Paris? Such a stunner! Not to mention those arty coral colored fringe bags we captured. And for those who love a luxurious fringe, take a closer look at Tom Ford, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta and Anna Suit. They’ll instantly turn your walk into runway strutting, moving along at your pase.

Given an extra boost by this years Off-White SS2019 collection neon is the perfect color to give your look that extra wow factor. Add some extra coolness with a touch of snake skin. And if you’re a real fan, match your glasses, bag and hair in the same shade while you’re at it. Construction workers be warned, we’re taking over!

Powder pink, baby blue, light yellow and mint green; it was a sorbet colored party backstage at the SS2019 shows. See how Kendall and her fellow models lined up in pastel shades at Alberta Ferretti. Discover how Emporio Armani beautifully mixed light green and baby pink. Be amazed by Marc Jacobs voluminous floral shaped and pastel colored dresses. See the pink at Stella McCartney, Balmain and Rochas, the Baby blue at Off-White and Jil Sander. Now your only dilemma is which of these ice cream flavors you’re going to choose this season? They worked incredibly well in the streets of London: chic checks! And especially in a skirt + blazer kinda context. A pleated or ruffled skirt and an oversized blazer, that is. Oh and let’s not forget the kitten heel booties and cowboy boots. Below a little London streetwear gallery on how to look cool, chic and collected.

Maison the Faux Catwalk Fashion Show AFW Studio 2019

Het Compagnietheater was crowded Thursday night (Full House!). And we were all in for a treat. Maison the Faux has never been a label that holds straightforward fashion shows. “MAISON pour MAISON” was theater, performance and dance all in one. A multidisciplinary presentation with just a touch of fashion.

The scene presented a series of vignettes that explored all facets of a home. With multiple beds on stage and feathers falling from the ceiling scenes depicting bedroom behavior at it’s most extreme. Settings that reflect the chaos of rehousing. Performers and movers swanned around, maneuvering through the sets and feeling at home within the constructed framework. MAISON the FAUX had their performers breaking free from borders and walls, transitioning from lonesome and confined sensibilities towards a feeling of togetherness.

All models, dancers, performers wore MAISON the FAUX’s interpretation of leisure wear. Home-wear in it’s most ultimate and elegant form. The looks consisted out of two-piece PJ’s, bedroom gowns, negligee sets and a selection of robes combined with sleeping hats and sweaters and T’s with MAISON the FAUX Melatonin graphics. The home-wear looks were styled with various interior products; pillows, duvets, sleep masks and even mattresses.

“There’s no place like MAISON.”
