Trend Report FW2018: Leather Dress

Rigid, stiff, heavy, but very classy. The leather dress plays a leading part in the new season. And it comes in it’s heaviest, thickest form if it’s up to Tods, Givenchy, Loewe and Stella McCartney. Cognac, emerald, deep blue, coral red or midnight black; your options are endless. Wear your little black dress utility inspired with lots of pockets, pins, zippers and a leather belt. Not the most easy going, soft & cosy material, but statement making nonetheless and perfect for those days when it’s leather weather!

Looking at the spring/summer collection for next year we get the idea fashion is sharpening up again. After years (& years) of joggers, trainers, sneakers and other kinds of comfort dressing we’re slowly but steadily moving into pleated pants, crispy blouses and tailored jackets again. But, before you completely change your mindset let’s fully exploit the sporty trend that is still in full effect. Let’s rock matching joggers and jackets. Let’s get lost in XL hoodies. And let’s make a homewear is outerwear style statement while we still can. And given the fact that there were still lotttts of tracksuits on the runway, it will take a while for the mass has adapted to a different more dapper way of dressing. So just know that new styles are coming up, but enjoy this effortless dressing game while it’s still here. Can you still keep track(suit)?

Sure, you might have picked up a snake skin bag or belt on your holiday in Bali. But if you’re really into this fall trend you’re gonna need much more than that. After we’ve lived in leopard for quite a few seasons the animalistic trend is now moving onto snakes. Full on snake print looks, that is. Inspired by the snake print runway looks at Bottega Veneta, Salvatore Ferragamo, Fendi, Cavalli and Gucci. Preferably in earthy tones, but some bright yellow might work too occasionally. All snake printed errthing, from the dress to the coat, the bag and the boots! Snake might just be the new neutral

Beauty Trend Fall/Winter 2018: Piece of Art

Of course we all love a good smudged, blended, all natural look that is basically a trend each season. But for any and everyone who likes to step out of his/her comfort zone and step up her beauty game, here’s a statement beauty trend for fall. Make-up like a true work of art, spotted at the likes of Altazurra and Dries van Noten. Bright colors, the strongest eyeliner and dazzling metallic accent make-up for some of this fall’s most outspoken beauty trends.
No Kira Kira needed when you’re capturing this. Designers like Giambattista Valli, Prada and Akris all gave their models a sparkling glam look. A spark on as well as in their eyes (Prada) and what a mesmerizing full on glitter look Giambattista sent out!
No need to hold back with this beauty trend. Just have the most fun getting ready, shine bright and be the star of the night. Have we sparked your interest?

Streetwear Trend Fashion Month SS2019: Fluo a Gogo

Neon is a thing again. Spotted on the streets of Milan, Paris and New York this day-glo bright color is all the rage. Kanye might have started it with his Yeezy range, Virgil Abloh took it to another level with his latest Off-White collection (see also the Blumarine and House of Holland SS2019 collection). Whether used on a long, floor sweeping black dress or as the main color of a complete tracksuit neon can be both chic and sporty. Wear it like Caroline Daur or rock this color like Eleonora Carisi. Neon yellow is a definite favorite (a turtle neck in that shade seems a safe bet), yet we’ve spotted some fluorescent orange, pink and green (the hair, the shoes, the bags!) as well. Are you ready to rock this statement shade? All eyes on you wherever you go. Fluo a gogo!

Trend Report FW2018: Eighties Leather Look

So we’re working a seventies palette, yet an eighties silhouette. Bold shoulders are back, as are the black leather jackets. The power woman silhouette came through strongly at Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant and Versace. Bare legs or a pair of skinny jeans and a bold jacket make up for the eighties look. But there’s more! Patent leather at MiuMiu, Haider Ackermann and Marc Jacobs proof you don’t have to wear color or metallic to wow your crowd. Black leather is your ultimate no brainer for fall. Oh and put on a matching hat for that extra style statement. Eighties redux with an ’18 touch.

Trend Report FW2018: Tweed

Tweed comes in every shape and size this time around. Classic, statement making, short ‘n sassy; any piece you need is out there in tweed. XL at Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein. Ladylike and old school at Altuzarra and Chanel. Youthfull and colourful at Miu Miu and Prada. No holding back this time. Wear tweeds on tweeds (on tweeds) and even throw in a couple of other trends or prints. Miuccia Prada proofed that if you keep it safe on the check color palette you can go all out on hair color (bright red), statement belts (like two of ‘em) and bright ‘n shiny shoes. Tweeds might just be your new basic/neutral.

Trend Report FW2018: Animal Instinct

If you’re a fan of animal prints, this is your time to shine. Full on, head to toe animal prints fit the current fashion trend. From Balenciaga en Dolce to Beckham and Max Mara. Forget the sand colored classic trenchcoat. Why not opt for something a little wilder?! Make your autumn outfit a roaring one covered in tiger, leopard or zebra prints. You might even match your gloves, tights, hat and bag game (as seen at Dolce & Gabbana). Oh and a pair of animalistic pumps of course, to take that walk on the wild side.

Trend Report FW2018: Pleated picture

Pleats please we said and so here they are. Adding the right touch of edge and elegance to many midi skirts and dresses. Like the Valentino red dress (worn over matching pants) at, you guessed it, Valentino. Like the gray midi skirt that Sportmax gracefully gave a sporty touch in the form of a tight top, waist belts and a pair of gloves. Like the army green colored pleated detail that was part of a extremely mixed look at Sacai. Like the pleats that gave a sheer Lanvin dress just the right little extra. And like a pink pleated Balenciaga skirt we’d love to wear every day coming fall. Keep it sporty, keep it funky, keep it fresh. And stay away from the classic pleats + blouses combination. Pleats are back (if they ever were absent) and here to give your autumn wardrobe that extra wow factor it deserves.
