Fall/Winter Trend 2020: Off white (head to toe)

November 4, 2019 by

Dressing in off white hues from head to toe can be the chicest fall/winter look. Not just in a winter wonderland, but any given day really. The Italians (Fendi, Ferretti and Gucci) know it. The French (Balmain, Hermes, Isabel Marant, Jacquemus) know it. Maxi woolen coat to die for. White boots too, oh yeas. And a fur stola and fluffy hat to go please. Blending in on a snowy day and standing out on all the other days the rest of the season.

Menswear Catwalk Fashion Trend FW2020: Down to Earth

As sustainability is an ever growing topic on our agenda’s, earthy tones are gaining popularity. Not black or grey, but brown, mustard, terracotta, beige, sand and chocolate colored looks are trending for upcoming season. Both at the menswear and the womenswear department. Our favorite thing about this trend? All colors go so well together it’s never been easier to mix and match the items from your wardrobe. Better start blending in. High profile looks with a down to earth mentality.

Just look at the various ways Balmain, Alberta Ferretti, Erdem and Dries van Noten styled them at their shows. Pick your favorite and it’ll surely fit like a glove.

Function meets fashion is not just a big theme for the ladies, this and upcoming season the guys too will see a lot of utility clothing. Like large pockets, big zippers, extra bags in all kinds of random places. And when you’re talking functionality there’s one piece of clothing that can’t be forgotton: the body warmer. And it’s making a huge comeback for fall. As seen at A Cold Wall, Kenzo, Marni, Vetements and Louis Vuitton. Keeping it warm and keeping it cool at the same time. Time to full up all those pockets!

Recap Paris Fashion Week FW2019

Paris Fashion Week may have been a little less busy this season. We still left the French capital with our fashion hearts and heads full of inspiration. Some highlights naturally were Chanel’s Winter Wonderworld by the late Karl Lagerfeld and Slimane’s new but old Celine collection. We loved Nina Ricci by the new Dutch design duo as well as Valentino’s (slightly younger) dream collection. Not to mention the gorgeous colors at Dries van Noten. Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior were guaranteed hit collections. And in terms of trends the City of Light brought us statement shapes, dazzling patterns and funky accessories. Menswear Trends Spring/Summer 2019 – Paris Recap

July 2, 2018 by

Paris menswear showed some super relaxed styles for SS2019. Loose pants, unbuttoned shirts, suits worn over bare chests, a hand in the pockets kind of appeal. Looks that breathe careless summer vibes. With pastel shades and an overdose of orange making up for a mellow SS palette. Guys don’t even have to worry about bringing a bag or backpack, if it’s up to Lanvin, Junya Watanabe and Louis Vuitton they’ll be carrying their belonging on their body in fashion’s latest wearable luggage (or one of the many vests with multiple pockets – another trend – we saw). Sportswear is still widely represented, but we’re slowly moving onto styles that are more relaxed, more elegant even. In other news: logomania (Fendi’s current main focus), cross body fanny packs, kimono style jackets and cowboy boots are hot for summer as well. Check out our trend galleries below to discover the styles for Spring Summer 2019 as presented in Paris.

Relaxed and revealing ; suits worn with nothing underneath them at Acne, Armani, Dries van Noten

No bags needed. Wearable luggage at Lanvin, Watanabe and Louis Vuitton

Say goodbye to your skinny jeans; relaxed, loose, billowing trousers are the current trend. Wide leg pants at Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Issey Miyake

The shirt comes in many shapes and sizes for SS2019. Oversized, sheer, striped, long and relaxed, formal and tight as aseen at Marni, Dior, Ann DeMeulemeester, McQueen

An ultimate chic summer shade; head to toe orange at Hermes, Dries van Noten, Kenzo, Acne and MSGM

Trend Report SS2018: Bits ‘n Pieces

June 25, 2018 by

Tattered, fringed, cut out, destroyed and deconstructed; this summer’s dress code requires outfits made out of bits and pieces. Like Ann Demeulemeester’s trenchcoat with midriff and shoulder baring parts (worn with half a hat!). Or Helmut Lang’s collection filled with asymmetrical cut ‘n paste styles. And then we have Margiela who created several types of garments out of cut out coats and pieces of decorative fur. Especially lingerie/swimwear looks seemed to exist of leftover fabrics. To keep everything together as one outfit the designer’s go to shade was black. Fringed black fabrics with a touch of tattered; are you in?

Fall/Winter Catwalk Trend 2017/2018: Mad Hats

When it comes to hats berets, flatcaps and shipperman’s caps are all the rage this season. Patent black or tweed checked, you can spot them all over town and all over your Instagram feed. A good hat takes your outfit from fine to fantastic (and it occasionally helps solve bad hair days). On the runway hats make up for statement making looks and jaw dropping moment. Especially next year, as FW2018 includes some maddd hats. Large feathers (Galliano, Gucci), patent leather (Dior, Marni), suede (Prada, Saint Laurent) or knitted (Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs). Made out of lace (Ann Demeulemeester), straw (Gucci) or a brown paper box (Moschino). No doubt you can make your hat game for fall/winter 2018 as original and as exotic as you please. But first, let’s rock this season’s headpieces till we grow tired of them!

Paris Fashion Week SS2017 Trend Round-up

October 7, 2016 by

We’re slowly getting back to our daily routine, picking up our ordinary fashion jobs. Far away from the cities that sequentially sizzled with fashion for a good uninterrupted four weeks. And while the rhythm of fashion week is slowly leaving our system we look back one more time at what Paris Fashion Week had to offer us. Practical wear and oversized suiting (Céline) definitely formed a SS2017 PFW theme. As did sheer, seductive and rather tacky styles (Lanvin, Chanel). A direct contrast. Like in Milan and New York pink and yellow turned out to influence a big part of the designer’s color scheme as retro prints (Givenchy) and polka dots re-appeared. As far as shapes and silhouettes concerned; loose and boxy is the way to go. And you either opt for strong statement (eighties) shoulders or just the one shoulder (Vetements). When it comes to accessories a super chunky earring (Saint Laurent) can make the difference. Heels are getting higher and bags even smaller (Valentino). Lots to love and to look forward to. Here are 6 trends from Paris to you.

1. Big sleeves
As seen at DeMeulemeester, Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant

2. Nipple gate
As seen at Balmain, Saint Laurent and Lanvin

3. Vibrant pink
As seen at Hermes, Nina Ricci and Valentino

4. Slogan Chic
As seen at Dior, Margiela and Stella McCartney

5. Rather tacky
As seen at Chanel, Haider Ackermann and Saint Laurent

6. One shoulder
As seen at DeMeulemeester, Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant
