Couture Trend: Out of the Box

Now here’s a trend you can hardly use as inspiration for your day to day outfits. Although, the true message these designers are bringing across is to think big. When it comes to couture shows there’s no limit to size, shape or color of the designs. And a lot of the creations are exaggerated on all parts. So it was bright colored candy pink at Armani, Giambattista Valli and Schiapparelli. 3D silhouettes at Viktor & Rolf, Alexis Mabille and Iris van Herpen. Fairytale like designs with a big showstopping factor. Out of the box dream dresses we can hardly see being fit into a one. What you can learn from this trend? Use your imagination, even in your daywear dressing. Dream a little and dare to express yourself.

Beauty Trend FW2018: Meet Me in the Middle

It’s clean, it’s simple, it’s chic. Wearing your hair down with a parting in the middle is probably the most effortless look we’ve seen for fall. Middle of the road, but in a good way. Victoria Beckham, Fendi, Stella McCartney and Versace all opted for this hairstyle, making their models look sophisticated without trying too hard. Wear it down or in a little low bum (Parisian chic), don’t use a lot of product and work this hair trend like Gigi and Kaia did at Versace. Meet you in the middle!

Menswear Streetwear Trend FW2018: Crossbody Bag

If there’s one way for guys to wear their bag this season it’s cross body. Whether it’s a fanny pack or another type of compact statement bag wearing it close to your chest is the way to go. With Gucci checks, the Supreme logo, the LV monogram print or just a vibrant orange colored one. Wear it over or under your coat (and then leave the zipper or buttons open). Or your essentials in one place and you’ve still got your hands free for your phone calls, cigarette break or just to put in your pockets. Convenient, cool, cross body.

Womenswear Trend FW2018: Dress Up Game

Like you came from your grandmother’s attic dressed up in all of her most outspoken pieces. That’s the look many big brands were going for on their runway shows. Bright colors, exaggerated silhouettes, statement making and most of all dressed up! And of course a runway is clearly very different from what what we actually wear on the streets. Yet you can certainly take notes from these fashion houses. A little extra accessorizing never hurt nobody. So instead of wearing just the big sunnies, just add a funky head wrap and wear a chunky backpack. If Marni says it’s a thing, you’ll look cool & collected and are sure to make some heads turn on your way to work.

Menswear Trend FW2018: Shades of Brown

As is the case in the ladies department the color of choice for men is brown too this fall. Multiple shades of brown that is, all combined in one look. As Acne, Cerutti, Vuitton and Marni showed on their runways. Seventies vibes guaranteed, even though Dior had an eighties feeling and Diesel delivered some Navajo vibes. At Fendi it was brown shaded fur in the mix with brown colored FF logo printed accessories. Dare to take this trend a little further? Opt for a chocolate colored suit and sport it with a nice chestnut beanie as Zegna illustrated would look nice.

Streetwear Trend: Fendi Mania

After Louis and Gucci sales went through the roof due to their logomania focus it woke up all other brands. Any label with a cool logo or print decided to join in on the logo fun. Amongst them was Fendi who decided to revive their FF logo, the logo created by Lagerfeld when he joined the brand in 1965 after the Fendi sisters asked him to design a small fur collection. FF stands for ‘fun fur’ and is now printed all over the latest Fendi designs. The bags, the belts, the boots. And if the ‘Zucca’ print isn’t really your thing a branded white Tee or sweater might also do the trick. As long as everyone knows you’re team Fendi (or Fendi x Fila with the same FF print for that matter) while looking this cool.

Streetwear Trend: Snake Alert

Sure, you might have picked up a snake skin bag or belt on your holiday in Bali. But if you’re really into this fall trend you’re gonna need much more than that. After we’ve lived in leopard for quite a few seasons the animalistic trend is now moving onto snakes. Full on snake print looks, that is. Inspired by the snake print runway looks at Bottega Veneta, Salvatore Ferragamo, Fendi, Cavalli and Gucci. Preferably in earthy tones, but some bright yellow might work too occasionally. All snake printed errthing, from the dress to the coat, the bag and the boots! Snake might just be the new neutral

Menswear Streetwear Trend: XL Overcoat

Indian summer has us in shorts again, but it won´t be long before we have to wrap up again. And what better way to beat the cold than by layering up and snuggling up in that one XL overcoat? Two major menswear trends we spotted during the menswear shows this year. That overcoat? That´s one for up on the winter wishlist for sure! Whether army printed, classic woolen, utility style (full of pockets) or extremely puffy, your coat is going to be your best friend this season so you better invest in a solid one that you can wear over and over(coat). One you can almost live in or at least take a good nap in on your train ride home. Add a cap, a beanie or a hoodie for a touch of color. Oh and don´t hold back on the layering (Balenciaga style!).
