Francisco van Benthum / Orson + Bodil Catwalk Show
There’s hope guys – Francisco van Benthum
There’s really hope for all those young men searching for great, modern clothes! Francisco van Benthum – for the first time showing under his own name instead of WOLF – presented a very mature yet cool menswear-collection inspired by Dutch fishermen and sailors. HOPE is the theme of his new autumn/winter ’08-’09 collection, and it seems this guy is ready for his international debut in Milan. Highlights: razorsharp suits. beautifully soft knitwear, airy coats and a great mix between sportswear and uniforms.
Celebration – Orson + Bodil
Alexander van Slobbe celebates 20 years in fashion this year. Not only with a book and exhibition but also with a beautiful wintercollection full of (reworked) classic Orson + Bodil designs. Simplicity reigns at van Slobbe and all outfits have that hint of luxury couture. Highlights: a black dress with nude-colored collar, full skirts and embroidered voile partydresses.

Daryl van Wouw Catwalk Show
Daryl’s darling
Like a real designer Daryl van Wouw had a popstar entertaining the audience. Krezip’s lead-singer Jacqueline Govaert opened the show. Daryl presented a strong collection full of edgy streetwise couture. It was the finale of a great Amsterdam Fashionweek.

Model with drink
First strutting down the catwalk and now posing by the bar. I liked her shoes and coat with the grey/silver pantyhose.

Ans Markus
Another lady who has passed the age of 40 and knows how to wear her age in a stylish way. I waited for 10 minutes to take a picture of her; Ans Markus, a painter. Maybe this is good inspiration for a self portrait.

Anouk
Dressed in a black cape, grey pantyhose and lackleather shoes, this pale lady with fuchsia lips drew my attention. Her name is Anouk and she’s learning to be a fashion designer. She has a special interest in the combination of texture and technology to add more light and better tailoring to her designs.

Willemijn Sluis
I first noticed Willemijns Scottish skirt. So nice to see someone combine it with the traditional dark blue colour instead of an obvious neon. Lipstick was original also; Bordeaux-red instead of Ferrari. After talking to Willemijn for a bit, it came out she knew Peter personally and had worked with him several times.

Neon rockstars
I caught these kids right before the supertrash show. They looked so good together, it almost seemed as if they were one outfit worn by three urban models.

Yellow Frida
Remember the artist Frida Kahlo? This woman I interpreted as the perfect modern version of her. I was blown away by her appearance and I wasn’t the only one.

Wolves in the Snow
This girl was one of the neon rockstars. If they were a three piece painting I’d call this piece the wolf in the snow. A friendly wolf though, who dresses well and has a pretty face.
Jan Taminiau Catwalk Show
Jan Taminiau – Fashionmoment
The show of Jan Taminiau was one of the highlights of this Amsterdam International Fashion Week. The transformation of young innocent girls into strong amazones was beautifully done and touching.
Bibi van der Velden Catwalk Show
Bibi vd Velden – Show (it) girls!
Jewelry-designer Bibi van der Velden found a great way to show her vintage-style jewelry. The set and styling were inspired by Marlene Dietrich and old school cabaret and that seemed a great and glamourous way to show her work.
