Backstage Fashion Trend FW2018: Prints & Patterns

We’ve been talking seventies styles earlier this week. Remember the seventies inspired color palette and streetwear looks we selected? Well besides the color palette, the silhouette and the accessories (chunky boots, XL sunnies, waist belts) there’s another 70s ingredient you can not miss: it’s the prints and patterns that belong to that decade. And we couldn’t help but spot some of those retro prints backstage at the FW2018 fashion shows. Checks at Emporio Armani, Prada and Fendi. Heavy striped at Marni. And graphic patterns at Stella McCartney and Rochas. Statement, sometimes dazzling prints. All in a palette of warm autumn shades (and a touch of vibrant orange).

Streetwear Trend FW2018: White Boots

Who knew a good white boot could ever beet the biker boot trend we’ve been seeing for years. Well, that just happened. For the second fall season in a row white boots are all the rage. And though you might need a second to really get the look, they work with just about any autumn outfit. Velvet red pants, a fringed skirt, a lilac dress, bare legs and a short skirt, an oversized trench, a snake printed coat and lots of pink and ruffles. Seventies shades, bright colors or a pretty pastel party; the white boot blends in with any style. Pin heels or chunky heels, cowboy style, lace up or knife boot inspired; these white boots are made for walking.

Streetstyle Trend FW2018: Space Sunnies

Nothing makes a statement look more than a pair of outer space sunnies. As it seems small, sharp and often colored sunglasses are the new eyewear trend. The cherry on the cake of a silver colored look or a FW2018 Prada fit. A touch of retro and some space vibes. Like you’ve just stepped out of 2030. Come rain come shine, the really turn any look into a showstopper. Sunny side up! The future is now.

Nothing more elegant than a monochrome outfit. And this season we’re seeing it all over the streets. Blouse, pants, even the shoes can be the same shade. Ton sur ton (sur ton). If there’s one fall/winter hairstyle you simple have to try it’s waves. Not curls really, but subtle, smooth wavy hair. The perfect effortless way to make it look like you really did put a lot of effort into your hairstyle. Whether you’re going for a walk with your dog or getting ready for a night into town. Try a central parting as seen at Isabel Marant, opt for clumpy curls as Paco Rabone demonstrated or go for long, healthy waves like the models at Missoni. Whether you use an iron tool or let your natural curls dry, remember ‘effortless’ is key when it comes to this beauty trend.

Menswear Trend Fall/Winter 2018: Tracksuits

Looking at the spring/summer collection for next year we get the idea fashion is sharpening up again. After years (& years) of joggers, trainers, sneakers and other kinds of comfort dressing we’re slowly but steadily moving into pleated pants, crispy blouses and tailored jackets again. But, before you completely change your mindset let’s fully exploit the sporty trend that is still in full effect. Let’s rock matching joggers and jackets. Let’s get lost in XL hoodies. And let’s make a homewear is outerwear style statement while we still can. And given the fact that there were still lotttts of tracksuits on the runway, it will take a while for the mass has adapted to a different more dapper way of dressing. Menswear Trend Fall/Winter 2018: Leather Layers

If you’re a leather lover kinda guy this is your season! From leather harnesses and gloves to full of heavy leather looks; anything goes in this leather layering trend. Are you going to keep warm in a leather jacket, a long leather coat, some tough leather pants and a pair of matching boots? Your colors of choice are (naturally) black, black and black. Try something fitted or opt for a heavy coat you can almost live in throughout the winter. And whatever you do, don’t take it lightly.
