Catwalk Trend Spring/Summer 2019: It’s a zoo out there
We’ve just come to the conclusion that half of our wardrobe is filled with leopard printed items ever since that trend completely took over. We might have added a touch of tiger and even a Dalmatian printed piece along the way, but there’s no denying the love for leopard. It has become our new neutral so to say. And thus, we’re moving further in the world of prints, looking for the next big thing. As it turns out that trend isn’t even that different from the animal print trend. In fact, it’s an animal print too. A different one though; these prints don’t feature the animal’s print, but the complete animal as a print. Just look at the farm animal at Dolce & Gabbana, the birds at Fendi, the butterflies at Mary Katrantzou, the fish at Michael Kors and the peacocks at Valentino. All very colorful, vivid and exotic. Animal prints revisited.

Catwalk Trend Spring/Summer 2019: Meshed Up

Keep fishing! We spotted net bags at Armani, net shoes at Altuzarra and mesh clothing at the likes of Louis Vuitton, Sonia Rykiel, Etro, Ferragamo and JW Anderson. Beach ready or office proof this netting trend blends in with any dresscode perfectly. Worn over tops and dresses it creates that extra special layered effect. And what better way to make your outfit literally breathe. So besides looking on trend it helps to take things lightly next season.

Catwalk Trend Spring/Summer 2019: Scarf Prints
Introduced by Versace and copied by millions; the scarf print is a big trend again for spring/summer 2019. Expect lots of flowers, chains and paisley prints in the mix as seen at Chloé, Loewe and Etro. Fits are loose and airy, the color palette earthy and rusty. Hats, bags and turbans with matching scarf print are the icing on the cake of your summer look, which will be simply perf for your holiday getaway.

Streetstyle Trend Spring/Summer 2019: Street Chic
February 5, 2019 by Jetty
Though dressing up has always been a big part of the streetstyle game the street have been dominated by sportswear influences for season after season now. Hoodies and joggers, caps and trainers; we’ve all never had more street cred than we did over the last few seasons. Yet, it’s time for a subtle shift! Time to start dressing up more. And that’s exactly what the streetstyle stars in the gallery below did. They put on a skirt, tucked in a top, slipped into a pair of heels and picked out a bag to match. Street chic is back, get ready!

Catwalk Trend Spring/Summer 2019: Utility Mode On

Overalls, cargo pants, tool belts and utility vests; it’s all about functional fashion these days. Wear your clothes oversized, in earthy tones and covered with a variation of pockets (and even pockets on pockets!). No extra bag(s) needed anymore. Thanks to Virgil Abloh and his concept of ‘accessomorphosis’: the transformation of bags and wallets into clothing. Just make sure you remember what you put in which pocket. Or you’ll have a hard time finding your car keys or American Express card and you’ll end up making things even more complicated instead.

Claes Iversen Couture SS19 “79Au”
February 1, 2019 by Jetty

Designer Claes Iversen just released his latest couture collection “79Au”. Monday we shot the lookbook for this SS2019 collection, which is all about gold and rings, at our studio. Below Peter talks Claes Iversen and this specific lookbook shoot.
Peter: “I’ve known Claes from back when he was interning at Viktor & Rolf. Since then he’s grown to be an amazing designer of his own. I’ve shot his collections and shows ever since and he was even the first designer to host a catwalk show at our Amsterdam studio. It’s a joy working with Claes. He’s great to be around, so we always have a good time on set. Claes might be Danish, with his rich fabrics and sculptural designs he fits in with our Dutch fashion landscape perfectly. His designs represent couture at its finest. For the lookbook shoot of his 79Au collection we’ve focused on keeping everything around the clothes as clean as possible. Since, with a collection full of gold like this, it’s easy to mess it up by going all too shiny/bling-bling and making the most delicate, elegant designs look like a Versace collection on steroids. We had a long shooting day at the studio this Monday, yet we had a lot of fun creating this lookbook for yet another stunning (golden!) Claes Iversen collection.”

Catwalk Trend Spring/Summer 2019: Biker Shorts
January 31, 2019 by Jetty
“I want to ride my bicycle!” Biker shorts are here to stay (for a little longer). Kim Kardashian must be so proud having been promoting this style for seasons now. And finally it’s really taking off! Wear them chic or street, with heels or dad sneakers, off shoulder tops or a cropped fur coat. It takes some guts to dare to rock this trend, but if you can pull it off you better enjoy it (to the fullest) while it lasts!

Short ‘n Sassy Haute Couture trend SS2019
January 30, 2019 by Jetty
When you think couture you might automatically picture romantic, floor sweeping gowns. Fact is short and voluminous couture dresses are becoming more and more popular. Just take a look at the examples below, short ‘n sassy couture dresses by the likes of Balmain, Givenchy and Dutch designer Iris van Herpen. Shorter but with the same impact as most of the long gowns. Lots of volume, so no bold sexiness (accentuated waists and deep cleavages) here. But there’s elegancy and seductiveness in the details; the bare shoulders or those killer legs for example.
