Round and about Elle Style Awards
Our reporter Sophie spotted some good looking people round and about:
Elif form AIFW-blog-team
This Chloe Sevigny look alike immediately caught my eye. Her name turned out to be Elif, she’s in charge of the AIFW fashionblog and knows how to work her wardrobe.
Nude Shiny Legs
This girl was the first person I saw wearing the American apparel nude shiny leggings. They are rather hard to combine but she did a great job. Love the tailoring of the jacket with its striking blue stitches.
Cara from Elle
Right before she left I managed to take a picture of ex chiefeditor Cara from Elle; being ‘the mother of style’ she looked amazing in her blue Klavers en van Engelen’ dress with a black detail and matching jacket and shoes.
Willemijn Rinnooy Kan
Dressed in a shiny Laundry Industry dress, Willemijn Rinnooy Kan, freelance reporter who has worked for Elle and the Financieel Dagblad, charmingly posed for me.
Boy in men’s room:
This sweet young man had been waiting in line for the toilet for 10 minutes and when it was finally his turn to go I asked him to pose. Thanks for holding it up a little longer!
Best dressed cleaning lady.
This girl obviously wasn’t the cleaning lady, though the colours of her bag and pantyhose look amazing next to a simple blue bucket. Love the lipstick and hair, thank you!
Yves Saint Laurent gloves
A great match in high-end fashion. The minimalistic shape and powdry colour of this dress go really well with the Yves saint Laurent gloves and the haircut.
Maartje Dijkstra Catwalk Show
Maartje Dijkstra – Future Knights
We loved the black & white drawings on shirts! The girls looked like future knights in their helmets, shiny clothes and jackets which sometimes reminded us of bulletproof vests and corsets.
EnD by Eva and Delia Catwalk Show
EnD – Tough girls
Eva van Overbeeke and Delia Drel are the designers behind the streetwise fashionlabel EnD. They sent out a colourfol, strong collection for tough girls. The graphic design of little animals was playful and added some juice to the sportswear-inspired clothes.

Peter Stigter in Het Gesprek
Peter Stigter talks to Arno Kantelberg about catwalk photography in the television show Het Gesprek:
Oilily Catwalk Show
Oilily – Dutch style
Oilily stays true to its Dutch roots, with longforgotten prints and graphics. But it also mixed foreign influences into the collection. Besides modern classics there were jeans and sportswear, which gave an upbeat touch to the collection.
LEW Catwalk Show
LEW
You will not forget this collection easily. Especially the patchwork of colours and the graphic mix.
Joline Jolink Catwalk Show
The collections of Joline Jolink are getting more and more mature and extremely wearable, and that’s a compliment!. For her autumn-collection she chose a clean, straight silhouette with a focus at the waist. The graphic effect of mixing colours like black, grey, white and orange was strong and daring. This lady likes to be straight forward.
Sherida Augustin Catwalk Show
Iris van Herpen Catwalk Show
Iris van Herpen – Yes!
Iris van Herpen showed for the second time and what a show it was! Inspired by crows and the dark, magic world of alchemists she tried to capture different atmospheres. Strength, danger, transparency, movement, it all came together in corset-like creations in leather, metal and threads. Very conceptual and very interesting. We’d love to see more.
Elle Style Awards 2008
Elle Style Awards – Beautiful People
We could not get away from that Elle party! Our feet still hurt, but the headache disappeared. And we still remember who won the award of best dressed celeb! It was Hanna Verboom, right?! And besides that, we also know who won the award for best talented stylist, that was Sophia van den Hoek, with her hippie de luxe presentation. Bravo!
