His designs are famous for their bright colors and extraordinary prints. Yet Matthew Williamson has decided to show us a whole new side of himself. The British fashion designers will launch a collection of bridal wear next year.

It will be interesting to see some completely white creations from Williamson, since he hardly uses this shade in his regular collections.

‘Of course, a bride’s outfit is about much more than just color (or the absence thereof). I wanted to create a bridal collection that is both a natural extension of the mainline eveningwear, but at the same time reflects the opulence of such an important celebratory event. The pieces are characterized by feminine, diaphanous silhouettes in richly embellished luxurious fabrics’, Williamson told Elle UK.

Matthew Williamson recently also announced the launch of a lower priced diffusion line, which will hit stores next fall.

Instead of all the black, navy and gray, why not wear something lighter this Christmas? Choose a dress in soft colors like beige. sand, gold, ivory and white and you’ll definitely make an Angelic appearance. It makes your look fresh and feminine.

Look for design with extra elegant detail like lace or ruffles (as seen at Valentino, Marc Jacobs, Alberta Ferretti and Diane von Furstenberg). Combine your dress, skirt or suit with light accessories and soft-colored shoes.

And if your bringing your man to the Christmas dinner, buy him a light suit as well. You’ll make a better match and will both look cool & trendy.

There are some great open shoes for sale this winter, yet with just a pair of thin tights you won’t make it through the day. Luckily for you we found the answer to cold feet. Just put on a thick pair of (colorful) socks and you’re not only staying warm but you look very trendy as well.

On the runway socks were presented in every possible color and print. Oscar de la Renta, Anna Sui and Vivienne Westwood opted for crazy prints while G-Star and Givenchy chose brights colors. And for a true Socks Spectacle just take a look at the photos of the Jean Paul Gaultier show…. Wow!

This winter you can wear your peep-toe shoes and stay warm at the same time.

Catwalktrend FW2010: a taste of toffee

A little bit of mocha, a hint of cacao, a slice of hazelnut, just a drop of caramel and some toffee. Those are the ingredients for a whole new trend, that we’re gonna see a lot this fall: light brown shades.

The different hues of brown looked splendid in their multiple variations, from beige (almost nude-colored) to chocolate brown, used on any kind of material.

Overall this trend was seen on the more sophisticated and minimalistic clothing in which the models looked very elegant.

If there’s one best way to wear the toffee trend it’s by combining the different shades into one outfit. Gianfranco Ferre, Salvatore Ferragamo and Chloe sure proved that. Even their accessories, small belts, hats and bags, came in a light brown shade.

So, if you’ve already picked up the camel coat we discussed earlier, you can easily upgrade it to this brown shaded look. Just ad some brown leather gloves, a belt & a hat and you’re good to go!

Catwalktrends SS2010: yellow-inspiration

Still suffering from a small winter depression? Just looking through the photos from this trend report will brighten up your day!

The trend for this spring/summer we’re discussing is the color yellow. From pastel to ochre to gold, it was there in many SS2010 fashion shows. It proved to be a good color to combine with other shades like blue, purple, green and red. Yet a completely yellow outfit can be very inspiring as well.

Emilio Pucci, Salvatore Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta used yellow in it’s brightest variant and showed blondes and brunettes can look equally sexy in this summery shade.

Which yellow item will you add to your wardrobe? The Dsquared jacket, the Jean Paul Gaultier bangles, the Marc Jacobs top or the Tartan Anna Sui skirt?

In any case, it won’t matter if the sun is shining this summer as long as you’re working your yellow fashion!

Who’s afraid of yellow, purple and red? We’re definitely not.  And so are the people we spotted in the streets of Milan and Paris. Color adds flavor to your outfit and it sure makes  the sun shine on a rainy day. Red is favorite, but also the soft shades Dries van Noten introduced in his 2009 fall-collection.
