All the ingredients for the perfect SuperTrash show were there Saturday night. A great show area (Passenger Terminal), an enormous crowd (incl. a front row full of Dutch celebs) and an absolute party vibe.
Olcay Gulsen, head designer of Supertrash, and her team put attention in every little detail. All guests were welcomed by ladies dressed in golden SuperTrash pants and printed tees and everyone in the front row had someone waiting for them with a sailor cap on, with their names written on it.
Yet though we expected a nautical theme in the collection as well, we couldn’t spot it in the clothes. The collection was – as always – super sexy and feminine. Gorgeous long curly haired models showed silhouette accentuating dresses, playful skirts, sparkling pants and floor sweeping gowns. All looks styled off perfectly by chunky shiny bracelets and high silver heels.
After a first few looks in off white, beige and sand colored shades, the color palette changed into more earthy tones. An ethnic print, shown on a strong tough jacket/dress looked like perfection. The bright colored zigzag print that was introduced (on a pair of pants, a long dress, top and jumpsuit ) later on felt a little too summer-ish for FW2012. But Olcay made up for with her finale of long sexy dresses. Those goddess gowns came in sparkly brown, beige, turquoise, purple and black and were the cherries on the pie for this fall/winter collection.
But no SuperTrash finale without designer Olcay showing off her fabulous looks on stage, of course. This time it was an extra special appearance since Olcay did a small performance (in the style of Beyoncés Billboard awards show last year) while launching her first perfume ‘Phenomenal’.
A great collection out, a first perfume on the market and an enormous fashion crowd, who loves it all. What more can a designer wish for?
Olcay Gulsen doesn’t hold a SuperTrash fashion show every season, but when she does, she sure does it right!

Highlights 14th edition AIFW FW2011
We did it again! We survived Amsterdam International Fashion Week, with more than 27 shows, presentations and party’s. We shot front-stage, backstage, street-wear, shows and soirees and we loved every minute of it.
More than 20.000 people attended the AIFW this time – amongst them a large group of international bloggers – and we hope they enjoyed themselves as much as we did. We did see some strong collections, beautifully dressed people and a lot of fashion-enthusiasm. We won’t forget the couture-show of Jan Taminiau or the colorful parade of Bas Kosters full with energy and fantasy. And we were surprised by the collection of Marloes Blaas and the sweet romantic style of Sage & Ivy. Die-hards like Tony Cohen and Addy van den Krommenacker demonstrated us what a real professional catwalk-show looks like. And talking about show: you don’t have to tell Supertrash anything about that. This was glamor tot the max!
And let’s not forget Spijkers & Spijkers, Monique Collignon, the LAB-shows, Ready to Fish by Ilja Visser, Huen Yeu, Velour, Elsien Gringhuis. And the Green Fashion Competition. This is how diverse and inventive Dutch fashion-design is.

Frontrow Supertrash AIFW FW2011
A lot of people were dissappointed they could not attend the Supertrash-show or watch it live via the official website of AIFW. So they could not know who was sitting frontrow either. We spotted a lot of famous people from the lovely Georgina Verbaan to Waylon. Every frontrow-guest had a guard keeping their seat free and wearing a T-shirt with their name on. Hereby a selection of the celebs who attended the show.

Supertrash Catwalk Fashion Show Amsterdam FW2011

The Supertrash fashion show was one great spectacle. Since it was held in the big round Gashouder building much more people could attend the show. There were enormous queues outside and it took hours for everyone to find their seats. For the guests of the front row this was not too difficult. Girls in white tees with their names on it were holding their seats.
Around 22.15u the show finally started. A model in a light suit opened the show, followed by a classic camel coat and a pencil skirt with a floral printed blouse. The designs in beige, sand and nudes felt super feminine and made the models (with high ponytails and green eye make-up) look confident and sexy.
Jumpsuits, corsetlike tops with skirts, fur coats, leather jackets and lace dresses (inspired by the roaring 20ties and elegant 30ties) all looked beautifully made and will definitely sell well. The models wore them with eye catching gold jewelry (in the shape of the letters ‘S’ & ‘T’) and ankle boots.
After all models walked the round catwalk one more time, Olcay Gulsen appeared and there were fireworks. Then everyone gathered in the center of the room to celebrate Supertrash and Amsterdam Fasion Week.
A night to remember…

Bibi wins our goodiebag contest!
February 2, 2010 by tess

With a fashionable key ring, a book about modeling by Yfke Sturm, a scarf from the Percy Irausquin collection and a Redken tube, we chose Bibi van der Velden’s goodiebag as the best of the Amsterdam Fashion Week.
Just as much as we loved Bibi’s show, we loved her goodiebag. We estimated its value at € 25 and gave the goodiebag an excellent 7,5.
Though the Bibi van der Velden key ring will be a little bit too big for our pockets, we thought it looked pretty cool. And as our whole team dreams of becoming a top model we also liked getting Yfke Sturm’s book about how to look like a top model. Besides, the scarf from the Collection PRC (Percy Irausquin) will surely match one of our outfits. And the Redken tube will be added to the rest of our Redken collection, which we gathered during this Amsterdam Fashion Week.
We want to congratulate Bibi van der Velden on winning our goodiebag contest.
Yet we have two remarks to make:
1. After comparing all goodiebags from this Amsterdam Fashion Week, it was obvious the Supertrash goodiebag had the best content of all bags.
It came close to winning our contest. However, as none of these bags ended up in our hands, it didn’t.
We think it’s only fair to give all first two rows at a fashion show a goodiebag and not make a distinction between the sections. Moreover, since we have officially started a goodiebag contest, we think we should always get one, no matter what section or row we sit. (We also don’t want to have to goodie-beg for it).
2. We accidently discussed one of the goodies in the Non by Kim goodiebag wrong. We described one of the items as a folder, but it actually was a handmade screen print, worth about 50 euros.
We want to apologize for this mistake. Yet we think its value wasn’t clear to a lot of people, especially since it was printed on the back of the press review, which most people throw away shortly after the show.
Maybe it should have been handed out in a different way or maybe it was just bit of a baddie to give away at a fashion show. Anyway, we are sorry for our misinterpretation.
Looking back on all the goodiebags we received last week, we think there is some pimping to be done. Some of the bags seemed worth more than their contents and after a few shows we were almost buried in Redken products. There was also a huge gap between the Supertrash goodiebag and all the other bags. So there’s a job for the other brands if they want to equalize.
We will continue on rating the goodiebags we receive at different fashion events, so we hope all brands will take the challenge and put some extra effort in arranging some new goodies for next fashion season.
Wanna take a hint?
Scarfs, books, accessories, make-up or food and drinks will do just fine!
