It’s needless to say that velvet is a huge trend this season. The venue of the miu miu show was even designed with velvet seats in orange, yellow, blue and green. It already gave us clue of what was about to come (and something very comfy for our bum to sit on after so many shows, good thinking Miuccia).  So of course it didn’t surprise when the ribbed velvet outdoor jackets came along. It makes us wanna skip summer and go straight on to winter 2016 (okay, that’s a lie, but hello wish list material). Just like another big player in this show: denim. If you’re planning on taking your love for the blue allrounder up to a next level, Miuccia gave you plenty of inspiration too choose from. The blue garment was in almost every look, wether on top, bottom or head to toe denim, just make sure you wardrobe counts some denim jackets, blazers, maxi-skirts, blouses and trenches. Cause nothing more versatile, wether you combine it with white shirting, military tailoring, waxed outdoor jackets, tweeds and wallpaper jacquards.  The third big player were pearls, seen on purses, belts, the rims of several eyewear and pearl-encrusted sandals. And we couldn’t help but silently laugh when seeing the pearly baubles on top of those fluffy flip-flops. In the end, that’s what Miuccia wanted, she told everyone. She wanted it to be fun and get people excited. No wonder why the label also recently launched a new app called Miu Miusic (great name by the way), bringing together music, technology, graphic design, and the label’s runway shows. This woman knows how to play her business on every level and it’s great fun for sure.

No better way to end a month of fashion noise than to indulge in some Miu Miu madness. And Miuccia Prada’s mismatched collection made sure we didn’t drowse while her goth ballerina’s appeared. Little diadems and deep cherry red lips topped off the original looks. Outfits full of contrast, from sheer negligees to heavy leather. From satin underskirts to checked woolen pencil variations. Coats and jackets had deco check prints. Resplendid dresses with candle prints made us wonder. Deep colored stolas added a nice touch of luxury as cat eye sunglasses, snake skin bags and statement footwear (both boots and ballerinas) had us completing our accessories wish list for SS2016. A collection about irrationality that made us leave the Palais d’Iéna please yet confused. Lots to elaborate on on our Thalys ride home.

For her Miu Miu-collection – the collection that closed Paris Fashion Week – Miucca Prada delivered a collection for lovers of real fashion. Fun house and funky fabrics electrocuted silhouettes that seemed inspired by the Sixties. Much of it was chic, a lot was tacky. But that is the tension Prada loves.
A-line swing coats with big collars came in blown-up herringbone plaids trimmed with color-clashing python pockets and borders.
Apron dresses with big plastic buttons and shirts with a wide ruffle around the shoulders expressed the naïveté that came through in the styling. Accessorized with costume floral earrings, necklaces and granny shoes, each look was put together with the enthousiasm of a young, fashion-hungry girl who just blew her allowance at a vintage store.

Miucca Prada presented a Miu Miu collection on top of this season’s trends: athletic practicality, fantastic knits and novelty furs, a subset of outerwear.
The attitude was perky and young, captured in neat, sporty nylon jackets layered over hooded windbreakers and quilted minis. They came in combinations of sweet pastels — white with pale pink, sea-foam green and baby blue — and classic bolds — gray with royal blue, kelly green and yellow — that were eventually gussied up with foiled brocades and chunky embroideries. Throughout, the slightly Sixties silhouettes suggested school uniforms, particularly the series of tailored gray wools and sweater-and-skirt looks.
Everything was highly wearable, utilitarian even, when it came to the long raincoats that came in clear plastic or traced with bright graphic stripes, and flat rubber rain boots.

For her Miu Miu collection Miucca Prada buy paxil online explored  the clichés and classics of the feminine and presented it as perverse. “Anything that is classic, a repeat in history, a genre of woman or clothes that always comes about,” said the designer to the fashion-press after her show. “Classics, classics of trash, classics of chic, classics of the good girl, classics of the bad girl.”

These classics ran from the children’s coat scaled for the grown woman to the bugle-beaded bustier of the showgirl.  Pretty and perverse happened simultaneously, with immaculate wool coats and thick vinyl skirts in off-pastel shades against vivid thick wool tights, the kind that children wear, and boiled sweet Mary Janes.

On a barely lit runway Miuccia Prada sent out her fifties style ladies. Ladies that appeared elegant, but there was something off. Their clothes were tailored, but ill-fitting. The designs had a feeling of couture, yet were definitely ready to wear.

Miuccia did her first few looks completely in denim; pencil skirts, large coats with ¾ sleeves and strange tops. Pointy shoes, long leather gloves, rhinestone details, high bangs, long hair and cat eye glasses to completely capture the Mad Men feeling.

Even though the models appeared like well dressed fifties women; there was not one ‘picture perfect’ in the collection. Rich fabrics were destroyed (satin was pummeled, furs were tie dyed) and poor were upgraded (dark denim was lined in satin). “It was not about destroying elegance, but achieving a different kind. Very Parisian,” said Prada, “but in a fake way, in a wrong way! The femme fatale is never perfect…at least the ones I like.”

The dark show area, the countless furs and not the brightest of shades Miu Miu didn’t really breath summer. Yet Miuccia did manage to portray that 2013 feeling by bringing together conventional chic with contemporary raw.

It’s been a while since Miucca Prada wove a common thread between her two lines, Miu Miu and Prada. But pantsuits are the only thing exciting to her after so many years of skirts and dresses, she explained to the press. And her pantsuits are still not ordinary. The Miu Miu clothes looked mannish and leisurely in a retro way. Jackets and matching ankle-length pants had roomy cuts, and were worn with buttoned-up blouses, scarves and ruffled, wide ties, all done in clashing patterns and color combinations.

The Miu Miu show opened with a confusing series of clothes that reminded of schooluniforms, drabby colors, basis skirts and shirts. Was this the same Miucca Prada who’d sent out this strong, and happy collection two weeks ago in Milan? But it was part of the show, which build the collection slowly, piece by piece, fabric by fabric, color by color.

The schooluniform was the basis (A-line silhouette, simple shirts), color, lace, frivolous accessories added along the way more festivity to the clothes. Like Cinderella getting ready for the ball.

The Miu Miu show was about Modern Glamour according to Miucca Prada. The glamour of  discreet dresses, with wide shoulders, sometimes bulked up with fur and decorated with glittering flora and fauna. The sparkle was matched by glittering shoes.

Miuccia Prada ended the Paris Fashion Week with a Miu Miu collection inspired by becoming famous. The soundtrack of the show was from American Idol, there was a red painted dance floor and the models wore colorful design + heavy make-up.

The color palette had shades of silver, gold, red, blue and yellow in it.  Feminine dresses had pleated bottoms ended just on the knee. They were worn with a small belt to accentuate the waist. Everything looked a bit over the top, but with a theme like this it should.

Besides bright color Miuccia created prints with snakes, swans, exotic lotus flowers and stars referring to the Sunset Strip. By putting on one of these dresses you might not immediately become world-renown, but at least you will look famous.
