SS2017 Trend: (Patent) Pink Party

When Valentino red turn pink you know something’s up. Bright pink is becoming the #1 color for this summer. And we can not think of a reason not to join this pink party. From Balenciaga to Vetements; the most fashion forward looks in bright pink are making headlights on the streets, in the fashion magazines and, of course, on Instagram. And might you think bright pink is daring enough, think again. Bright patent pink (as seen at Bottega Veneta) is even a better option. Not to mention the satin pink spotted at Ralph Lauren. And let’s not forget the red/pink combination both Sportmax and Valentino introduced. The in between shade of raspberry red spotted at Kenzo, Hermes and Michael Kors might be your best bet. The ultimate summer shade that works beautifully combined with mint green (just look at one of the Céline runway looks). Show some color, give them something to talk about and make it a (sweet) summer to remember!

STREETSTYLE TREND SS2016: RAINBOW HAIR

Didn’t we all dream of rainbow hair as little girls at one point? This summer fashion lovers around the world (and especially in the city of London) seem to be fulfilling that life long dream coloring their hair in the brightest of colors. Not just pink or mint green, but a whole range of shades for that jaw dropping, head turning effect. Anna dello Russo already proved that, styled in the right way (with a printed Gucci dress, that is), a rainbow do can compliment your outfit. Like a brand new it-bag it can create that instant on trend look. Lucky for us professional hair brands are coming up with the coolest inventions to color or chalk your hair for just a short period of time. Whether faded pink or poppy red; anyone can give this beauty trend a go without damaging their hair. Now let’s look for a rainbow dress to match our freshly colored locks, shall we? Rainbows and unicorns, color me blind.

Streetstyle Trend: A Touch of Neon

It was one of the biggest streetstyle trends of this season: neoncolored fashion items. The bright and funky colors popped up at every fashion week. We saw fluorescent lime, eclectic green, bright orange and neon pink everywhere.

The daredevils wore neon in their actual clothing, others opted for bright accessories like bags (satchel bags,  clutches) and shoes.

A smart choice, since a touch of neon is the easiest way to pimp your whole look and go from dull to daring.

Especially on a sunny day those neon shades make a great fashion statement.

Menswear Trend Report SS2011: Bright & Shiny

The biggest summer trend in womenswear without a doubt was the colorblocking trend. Gucci, Jil Sander and Prada set the tone with their collections and the trend immediately was picked up. In menswear the same thing happened, though a bit more subtle. Here Kenzo, Calvin Klein and Louis Vuitton showed some bright hues too. Yet it was Jil Sander that went for colorblocking all the way.

Though the trend wasn’t as big in menswear as it was in womenswear; men certainly are wearing more brights this season. Mixing several bright colors together in one look might be a little too much for some men, but at least the designers above brought some of the fun back in fashion.

Trend Report SS2011: Bright Bags

What better way to brighten up your outfit than by carrying a colorful candy-like bag? Burberry, Costume National, Fendi and Louis Vuitton surely all understood the power of that small colorful bag. A subtle extra to change your look from dull to dazzling.

The bag may have a graceful shoulder band; the best way to carry it around is by holding it in your hand. And even though there might be just enough room for a phone and a credit card these bags are the coolest items of the summer.

Whether fringed, patent, floral-shaped, embroidered or suede; as long as your summer bag has a bright color to it; you’re right on trend.

Make-up trends ss2010: bright eyes

No smokey eyes next season, but bright colorful ones that really stand out and give you that summer-feeling.

The models’ eyes were painted in every color of the rainbow. At Dior they were purple, blue and green. At Fahri they came in a pastel green and purple combination. Galliano’s girls had pink eyes. Luella Bartley gave her models a thick layer of blue eye shadow, which even crossed their eyebrows.

At Issa the eyes were metallic green and at the Derek Lam fashion show they looked like little rainbows in orange, purple and green. Viktor & Rolf gave their models a mix of pastel-colored eye shadow as well; we saw pink, blue, purple and green. Those colors matched with the outfits from their SS2010 collection.

The combinations of many bright colors looked great on each of the models. So for next summer I think we can spice up our make up and try to create the same pastel-colored eye shadow look for ourselves. If you dare, use green and purple; they seem to be the main colors for 2010.
